FAQ
Are all sugar cubes really four grams?
Most refined cubes weigh about 4 g, but raw or decorative cubes may range from 3–6 g. Adjust the grams-per-cube field for accuracy.
How do I convert teaspoons or tablespoons to cubes?
One teaspoon of granulated sugar is ≈4 g (one cube). One tablespoon is about 12.5 g, or roughly 3.1 standard cubes.
Can I use this for liquid sweeteners?
Only after converting the liquid to grams of sugar using nutrition facts. Syrups and honey have different densities.
What if my sugar substitute has different sweetness?
This calculator measures grams only. Check the sweetener's label for its sugar-equivalent ratios and adjust before entering grams.
Why does the result include decimals?
Decimals show partial cubes. Round to the nearest whole cube for casual comparisons or keep the decimal for precise recipe work.
Additional Information
- Default assumption: 1 cube = 4 g of granulated sugar, which matches many North American and European brands.
- Adjust the optional grams-per-cube field to match specialty cubes, raw sugar lumps, or homemade molds.
- To convert the output back to grams, multiply the cube count by the grams-per-cube value you used.
- One cube is roughly equal to one teaspoon (4 g). Multiply cubes by 4 g ÷ 12.5 g ≈ 0.32 to estimate tablespoons.
