FAQ

How do I calculate wall area?

Measure each wall's width and height, multiply to get square meters, and sum the results.

Does this include primer?

No. If you need primer, calculate it separately using the coverage printed on the primer can.

What if my coverage is listed per gallon?

Convert the coverage to m² per liter by dividing the gallon coverage by 3.785, then enter that value.

Should I plan for extra paint?

Yes, porous surfaces and color changes may require additional coats. Adding a small buffer prevents color mismatches later.

Additional Information

  • Coverage values come from the paint label and usually refer to one coat on a smooth surface.
  • Add 5–10% extra to the calculated amount for touch-ups and surface absorption.
  • To convert liters to US gallons, multiply by 0.264.
  • Subtract doors, windows, and trim from your total area for a more precise estimate.
