FAQ

How should I pick the SERP modifier?

Review Search Console CTR against benchmarks for your rank. If your CTR is 20% lower than typical, try a 0.8 modifier.

What if my keyword ranks beyond position 20?

The tool caps the lookup at position 20 and applies a conservative 1.4% baseline CTR for deeper results pages.

Can I model the impact of capturing a rich result?

Yes. Increase the modifier to 1.1–1.3 to reflect the uplift from a featured snippet or strong review schema.

Additional Information

  • Baseline CTR values blend industry studies for desktop and mobile and decline smoothly beyond the top 10 positions.
  • Use SERP modifiers below 1.0 when the results page is crowded with ads, maps, or other features that depress organic clicks.
  • Set the modifier above 1.0 if you already own a featured snippet or video result that historically lifts click-through rate.
