Employment Notice Period End Date Calculator
Know exactly when your last day falls before you resign. Enter the date you intend to deliver notice and the number of days your contract requires. If your employer measures notice in business days, toggle the optional weekend-skipping flag. The calculator outputs the final working day along with the calendar and business days consumed.
Check your employment agreement for provisions about holidays, PTO usage, or company approval that may alter the calculated end date.
Examples
- Notice on 2026-07-10 with 30 calendar days ⇒ Final working day: August 09, 2026 • Calendar days counted: 30 • Business days counted: 30
- Notice on 2026-09-02 with 15 business days (skip weekends) ⇒ Final working day: September 23, 2026 • Calendar days counted: 21 • Business days counted: 15
FAQ
How do I factor in company holidays?
Subtract holiday days from the required notice before running the calculation, or adjust the final date forward manually if HR rules exclude paid holidays from notice counts.
What if my contract specifies weeks, not days?
Convert weeks to days (for example, two weeks equals 14 calendar days) before using the calculator. Toggle the weekend skip if the policy references business days.
Does the result include my notice submission date?
No. The countdown starts the day after notice is given so your final working day reflects the full notice period completed.
Additional Information
- Weekends are excluded only when the optional field is set to 1; holidays are not removed, so adjust manually if HR policy skips them.
- The calculator assumes the final working day occurs after the full notice period elapses—if your agreement counts the submission day, subtract one from the required notice.
- Use the business-day output to sync handoffs with payroll cutoffs and benefits eligibility.
